Conil again

Mushrooms on toast, coffee, circumnavigation of Conil, canteen lunch, more walking, up and down, Jason Bourne and the final few episodes of Final Draft – brilliant.

After what was probably a hectic evening, many were down on the sea front with their dogs, an interesting mix of breeds but no cocker spaniels or golden retrievers to be seen. Lots of children and a couple of embryonic wingers (apparently the correct term for wind surfers who try to use aerofoils for power). The wind was too strong to allow them to stand on their boards so instead we saw an alternative style of backsides in the water, arms outstretched and an aerofoil that was desperate to be elsewhere. I’m not sure that either was enjoying the experience.

There are people in the water !

In an effort to locate Santander bank we walked east then north before Dorothy realised that we weren’t following the Google blue line any more 😟. By which point we were on the outskirts of Conil and a long, long way from the bank. Dorothy is a resourceful lady so with a couple of mild expletives and a quick readjustment, we headed back into town straight to the bank.

Most bars and restaurants were still closed but there were a couple serving burgers and the like. We chose what we thought was the best, a salad followed by some form of fish accompanied by chips and sparkling water. Not ideal but we were hungry after all the walking.

For future reference – avoid

We wandered around a little more looking for shops that might sell a bedside lamp, actually one of a pair to replace one that I’d broken a few nights ago. The lamps were from IKEA and I really, really don’t want to go there to pick up a couple of replacements.

Dorothy emailed the guy who owns the apartment. He told us not to worry, he’d sort it out, breakages happen, perhaps write a nice review instead. If it avoids us having to go to IKEA it’ll be glowing !

Tired but cheerful we trotted back to the apartment and settled down in front of Netflix.

Buenas noches

PS. Asura is great 😊
