Redondela

We’ve arrived at tonight’s venue, A Casa da Herba which I’d booked directly. Unfortunately the bathroom is shared which isn’t ideal for someone padding off to the toilet twice a night. But the room is light, the shower is excellent and I can always buy a large necked bottle 😊.

Today was sunny, warm and got hotter as the day wore on. I had one of my (thankfully) rare schizoid migraines which finally disappeared mid afternoon. It started a little before 8 o’clock, lots of threads running simultaneously alongside a main thread which gradually grew stronger as the morning drew on displacing the others completely by 3 o’clock. Normality restored. My least enjoyable migraine experience type but thankfully over within a few hours.

There’s a lovely stone bridge over a small stream which has been carrying traffic for a very long time given the depths of the indentations.

Note the twin indentations

I remember the next photograph from last time we were here. I’m still unsure what exactly it represents but it’s interesting nevertheless.

Here’s the leftmost image in close up – unfortunately I’m still none the wiser.

The vines are beginning to bear fruit, by September these will be ready for harvesting.

We stopped a couple of times for water and a bocadillo and then just before lunch, a quick banana and satsuma

the remains of which I very surreptitiously buried deep in the vegetation behind Dorothy.

There are some amazing high stone walls covered in ancient vegetation and astonishingly a wall of tyres.

Also covered in vegetation. From the state of them I would guess they must be many decades old. I’ve seen tyres filled with soil and used in building earthships but never walls in this fashion. Very impressive.

99.840 km

We’re getting there slowly.

Nature has been at her very best today with some lovely flowers and plants in the least auspicious places.

The day didn’t start well but the sun shone, agua con gas flowed and nature showed her true colours, so all in all a good day.

Buen camino
