It’s 16:47, we should have left at 16:25 but the flight has been delayed. We have a bus ticket for 20:30 to take us from Asturias airport to Oviedo but it looks increasingly like we’re not going to make it (sigh). The buses seem to run every couple of hours so yet another tedious wait outside the airport I suspect.
We’ve had a very pleasant lunch at Wagamma, a double helping of dumplings followed by two vegan main courses followed by a third main – teriyaki salmon. I was hungry π. Mum drank a large glass of wine, sparkling water for me. She needed the wine after the strip searching she had through customs. Clearly in order not to appear discriminatory, the guys pick on the occasional white haired granny and give her the third degree. Luckily I’m not white haired nor a granny so I sailed through unmolested.
Tempus fugit and all that. Our hotel in Oviedo looks fairly large and cosmopolitan so hopefully we’ll have no difficulties arriving late. It’ll be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the airport as we re-enter our little bubble. I’m looking forward to walking out of the hotel in the morning. I think the Camino passes near to the hotel but I suspect that we should head for the cathedral before wending our way along the original Camino, the Camino Primitivo first taken by King Alfonso centuries ago.
That’s it for now. Mum’s gone to hunt for sandwiches for dinner tonight. It sounds like everyone is well at home so buen Camino once again π€
